ALARA Conference 2026
Action Learning and Action Research for Sustainable and Inclusive Futures
The early-bird registrations for the conference have been extended, but only until Monday night, 10 August, so please register and grab the savings.
The ALARA web page for the conference now has a list of many of the presentations and a draft version of the programme, so you can see the variety and quality of presentations.
An important session on Day Two is a panel with Life Members and experienced practitioners, where participants can ask questions to the panel members.
Annual General Meeting and Elections
You will have received (or soon will receive) an email announcing the schedule leading up to the AGM, and inviting nominations for various positions on the Board and Committees Group. ALARA is a volunteer-led and operated association, so please consider nominating for any of the roles (or even proposing to take on a small project to help with delivering services to members and the wider community). More information about these roles is available here.

Action Research Community of Practice
The next meeting of the Auckland CoP will be on Wednesday 26 August 2026, at 1.00 pm in New Zealand, 11.00 am in Eastern Australia Time (10.30 am in South Australia and 9.00 am in Western Australia), 9.00 am in Manila, 2.00 am in London, and 9.00 pm Tuesday August 25th in Eastern USA. The CoP aims to enable people to obtain feedback, contribute ideas and build connections across borders. Initial meetings have had contributions from Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.
