ALARA Conference 2026
Action Learning and Action Research for Sustainable and Inclusive Futures
There is only one week before the close of submissions for presentations for the conference, so please hurry!! Full details and submission form for presenters are available on the ALARA Conference web pages.
Registrations for the conference are open. Early-bird rates now apply, closing 3 August.
The ALARA Board encourages all members to send the flyer for the conference to their networks and encourage those working with action learning / action research to attend - download the flyer here. If you would like to assist in the preparation and conduct of this conference, please email admin@alarassociation.org.
Annual General Meeting and Elections
As the Conference approaches, so does the Annual General Meeting (to be held on 29 September), which includes elections for Board and Committees Group roles. To ensure ALARA continues to deliver its services to the community, the Board encourages members to consider nominating for roles on the Board or as a Co-ordinator of those services. Time commitment is low - half a day a month, and is related to what you want to achieve in the role. Alternatively, you might consider doing a project that supports one of these services over a short period. More information about these roles is available here.

Action Research Community of Practice
The next meeting of the Auckland CoP will be on Wednesday 29 July 2026, at 1.00 pm in New Zealand, 11.00 am in Eastern Australia Time (10.30 am in South Australia and 9.00 am in Western Australia), 9.00 am in Manila, 2.00 am in London, and 9.00 pm Tuesday July 28th in Eastern USA. The CoP aims to enable people to obtain feedback, contribute ideas and build connections across borders. Initial meetings have had contributions from Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.
