ALARA Conference 2026
Action Learning and Action Research for Sustainable and Inclusive Futures
Registrations for the 2026 ALARA Conference on 29-30 September are now open. Early-bird rates now apply, so do not delay.
The ALARA Board encourages all members to send the flyer for the conference to their networks and encourage those working with action learning / action research to attend - download the flyer here.
Submissions for presentations are being accepted up until 15 July - the first submission has already been accepted for inclusion. Full details and submission form for presenters are available on the ALARA Conference web pages. Action Research Community of Practice
Last month Ann Orejudos from the Philippines discussed an action research project involving nutrition for children in remote villages. The next meeting of the Auckland CoP will be on Wednesday 27 May 2026 at 1.00 pm in New Zealand, 11.00 am in Eastern Australia Time (10.30 am in South Australia and 9.00 am in Western Australia), 9.00 am in Manila, 2.00 am in London, and 9.00 pm Tuesday May 26th in Eastern USA. This month we will hear from David Kayrouz about his PAR project completed last year involving a development of John Heron’s cooperative enquiry using non-verbal forms for experiential inquiry related to facilitating greater levels of epistemic justice for participants. We aim to enable people to obtain feedback, contribute ideas and build connections across borders.

Action Research Essentials MOOC Development
The recent breach of Canvas, the system on which the team is developing the MOOC, will delay the final completion of the MOOC, but hopefully only for a short time. We will provide an update in next month's e-News. If you would like to help in developing and reviewing the MOOC, please email ALARA.
