The January meeting of the Auckland CoP discussed ethics, a conversation that will continue in the February meeting, which will be on on Wednesday 25 February 2026 at 1.00 pm in New Zealand, 11.00 am in Eastern Australia Summer Time (10.00 am in Queensland, 10.30 am in South Australia and 8.00 am in Western Australia), 8.00 am in Manila, Midnight in London, and 7.00 pm Tuesday February 24th in Eastern USA.

Action Research Essentials MOOC

As members will be aware, for the past year, a team of ALARA members have worked to move Bob Dick’s seminal AREOL (action research and evaluation online) course into an online MOOC platform. A MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) can make this course available to anyone, anywhere in the world.

The team are nearing the end of the preparation of the initial version of the MOOC, and they are seeking ALARA members' feedback on the usability / functionality of the modules (sessions). The MOOC is self-paced and participants can leave and return to complete a module at any time that suits them.

Registrations are now open for the soft launch of the MOOC for ALARA members. The final MOOC will consist of 14 three-hour modules, but we are inviting you to participate in one or more of the online, self-paced modules of your choice.

Please contact ALARA (admin@alarassociation.org) to receive the registration details. As you progress through the MOOC you will be invited to provide your feedback.

Action Learning and Action Research Journal

The two 2025 issues of the ALAR Journal are now available online or you can order a printed copy. Members can access the full electronic issue on ALARA website's latest journals page or individual articles on the Journal website (you will need to log in before accessing the full content). To order a printed copy, please email admin@alarassociation.org

Members are also invited to submit papers for the 2026 issues via the ALARj site.
