Putting Global Collaboration at the Heart of Action Research

Registrations for the World Congress are now open, while the Call for Papers continues (closing 30 June).

The World Congress will be at:

• Auckland University of Technology Sports Performance Research Institute NZ on 18th and 19th September 2025
• University of Technology Sydney on 23rd and 24th September 2025
• Medici di Makati College Manila on 30th September and 1st October 2025
• and online on the above dates.

Webinar - Action Learning in the Context of Generative Artificial Intelligence

You are invited to this ALAR Webinar on 20 May 2025

The webinar will present research from a paper that responds to 3 questions:

1. What is the history, current state, and future potential of action learning?
2. What are the implications of GenAI on action learning?
3. How can we develop a new Action Learning model suitable for the era of GenAI?

Call for Papers - Special Issue on the Transformative Potential of Curriculum Practice on Climate Change through Action Research

Submissions of papers are invited for a special issue for the ALAR Journal dedicated to exploring the transformative potential of integrating curriculum practices into climate change education through action research. Submissions close on 9th May 2025. Please see here for the full description of the Call.

Developing AREOL into a MOOC

The team preparing the AREOL MOOC would appreciate critical friends who would be willing to:

• Review content for a module (2 hours) and provide constructive feedback
• Review an online module (2 hours) and provide constructive feedback
• Provide suggestions for new content or modules

How Can You Help?

ALARA Is a volunteer-run organisation. The Board welcomes any offers of assistance. Note: you do not have to be a Co-ordinator. ALARA needs people who can offer an hour a month, an hour a day, or anything between (even a day every so often). Later this year, the Board will also invite members to join in a strategic planning process.
