Call for Venue for ALARA 2021 Conference
The ALARA Board is seeking a potential venue for next year's event. Preparing for a conference takes a good twelve months (and sometimes more), so a partner for the 2021 Conference must be identified soon. Naturally, potential restrictions to travel across State and international borders and social distancing may continue well into 2021, so an event must be able to cope with face-to-face, virtual or a hybrid arrangements.
You will notice that the information we normally include in ALARA News and Other News and Events is not present in this e-News.
We discovered after the last e-News that the way we linked to other websites and other events was increasing the chance that the e-News would be seen as spam! Future e-News will link to a page(s) on the ALARA website, which will have the links to those other sites and events. Due to the conference, creating and formatting the page with the links on the ALARA site was not completed for this e-News.

Journal Site Renewal
The old Journal site has been replaced! The new site (which is still in hard hats and high-vis vest mode, as we complete the transition) is located at https://alarj.alarassociation.org.
The new site will be fully operational soon, but you can access it now, just like the old site. Your original login and password will be the same, but please note, the main site and Journal site have different logins, and if you had different user names and passwords, that will continue.
If you cannot access the Journal site properly, please email admin@alarassociation.org (a response may take a few days).
Old ALARA Site
The old ALARA site (alara.net.au) is written in old code, and has not been updated for several years. ALARA plans to remove that site late this year. People registered on the site have recently been sent an email, encouraging them to copy anything they wish to keep from the site before it closes.

Action Learning Facilitator and Action Learning Practitioner Programmes
The alliance between ALARA and the Global Centre for Work-Applied Learning (GCWAL) includes the introduction of new professional certifications as Action Learning Facilitators and Action Learning Practitioners, co-badged by ALARA and GCWAL. Information about the programmes are available on the GCWAL website and the linked brochures.
The alliance also provides support to ALARA to develop research in action learning and action research. A further announcement will be made later this year.
