ALARA AGM Zoom Meeting Rescheduled

Australian ALARA Members may know that Optus, one of the major Australian internet and mobile telephone providers, had a total outage today from 4.00 am until about 1.00 pm (Australian Eastern Daylight Time). As a consequence, the ALARA Annual General Meeting (AGM) Zoom meeting could not proceed today as scheduled.

As indicated in the announcements of the AGM, the ALARA Board could not guarantee that the Zoom meeting would be problem-free, and that the total content of the AGM would be the combination of the electronic and Zoom sessions, up until the outage. In this case, as the outage happened before the Zoom meeting commenced, the meeting consists solely of the electronic session.

However, an insufficient number of people voted at the electronic session to make a quorum for the AGM. The Zoom meeting must therefore be rescheduled, so that enough members can attend to gain a quorum.

The revised time for the Zoom meeting is 10.00 am Tuesday 14 November 2023. If you would like to attend the meeting (and I encourage all members who have not voted to attend), please register your interest to attend the Zoom meeting by 9.00 am Tuesday 14 November 2023 (Australian Eastern Daylight Time for all times) by emailing the Secretary via secretary [at] alarassociation.org, indicating the email you will be using for the meeting.
