Action Research Practitioner Papers No. 1
The first Action Research Practitioner Paper is scheduled for release in May. As a series, the Action Research Practitioner Papers describes details of activity across any aspect of an initiative which otherwise may not be open to analysis or learning. These practices may include project management, facilitation, documentation, networking, collaboration, critical thinking and inquiry, systemic transformation, action research and action learning practice education and training, and/or self-reflection, for example.
More information about this new publication, and invitations for further submissions will be available in the coming month. If you would like to prepare a submission for a Practitioner Papers publication, or know someone who has done the type of work that would be interesting reading in a Practitioner Papers publication, please email admin [at] alarassociation.org.

Call for Monograph Submissions

Our Monograph Editor, Eileen Piggot-Irvine, would welcome any new submissions. Please email them to admin [at] alarassociation.org. Submission guidelines are available here.

GCWAL-ALARA Certification Programmes
The alliance between ALARA and the Global Centre for Work-Applied Learning (GCWAL) includes professional certifications as Action Learning Facilitators, Action Learning Practitioners and Work-Applied Learning (WAL) Change Practitioners, co-badged by ALARA and GCWAL.
Discussions with several organisations in three countries continue, and ALARA can expect to see more skilled practitioners joining over coming months and years.
Information about the programmes are available on the GCWAL website and the linked brochures.
The alliance also provides support to ALARA to develop research in action learning and action research. More news will come on research initiatives under the alliance.
If you would like to know more, please see the GCWAL website or the ALARA website.

Assistance Request
ALARA is a membership organisation, and volunteers perform almost all of the work required to make the organisation useful to members. ALARA's Board has identified a range of activities that could be done for members, if people are willing to assist in delivering these activities. Examples of these activities include:
- One of the Board and several Committees Group (Co-ordinator) positions remain vacant after the AGM, so members are urged to consider expressing their interest for these positions by emailing as indicated below.
- Proposals and assistance are sought to help plan, prepare and conduct webinars to fill the gap created by social distancing and lack of conferences.
- A small committee is being formed to conduct a conference in Australasia in 2023, and the members of that committee are seeking additional volunteers.
- Several members are involved in research, with at least two other projects on the horizon. The alliance with GCWAL (see above) also supports further research.
- The recognition of Indigenous People and supporting their work in action learning and action research is another exciting opportunity.
If you would like to know more, or want to assist, please contact ALARA.
