CARN 2017 Conference

CARN has had a hugely successful conference in Crete where their hosts provided all participants the most wonderful hospitality.

Keynotes were by Andy Townsend, Sofia Avgitidou and Michael Wright - all inspirational in entirely different ways. Members of Regional CARN groups - Greek, Portuguese-speaking, Norwegian, German-speaking and Dutch - colleagues joined the event sharing details of their activities - including a conference in December 2017 in Brazil to be hosted by the Portuguese-speaking group.

Call for papers to EURAM 2018 Making a Difference: Action Research and Engaged Scholarship in projects and innovations

A special track is being organized by proponents from the Project Organising SIG (supported by members of the Innovation SIG) inviting papers being held at the University of Iceland from 20-23rd June.  Papers are due by January 10, 2018. We invite you to consider submitting papers to this track.

Second Call to Submit Proposals and Register for ALARA 2018 World Congress

ALARA is putting out a 2nd call for proposals to contribute to the global body of experiential learning knowledge that brings about meaningful change through new understandings and building of communities of practice through action learning and action research (AL/AR).

Free email base action research course sponsored by ALARA

Areol, Action research and evaluation on line, is a 14-session course conducted by email.  It was formerly a for-credit postgraduate course at Southern Cross University.  Now, without its examination component, it is open to all.
    
Areol is offered twice a year.  The next 2017 program will run from early July to late October.  You can examine an earlier and partial version of the course on the web at http://www.aral.com.au/areol/

Though it was a hard lesson, Bob eventually learned that relationships are important. When they are sound, everything else is easier. For an educator, a facilitator, coach or change consultant, developing and maintaining good relationships provides a sound foundation for effective work.

In this conversation we’ll examine processes for building relationships and, as necessary, managing disagreement.
